faculty spotlight

Wendi Isaacson is a highly sought-after tap dance performer, choreographer, teacher, and producer based in Alpine, Utah. She trained under Colleen West and was an original member of Foot Poetry for over a decade, and is currently mentored by Rusty Frank. Wendi holds a degree from Brigham Young University, graduating with University Honors in English and Dance Teaching. She is the Founding Artistic Director of Rhythm Nation Tap Company and Time Bomb Tap Company and has directed Utah Tap Fest since 2018. Her full-length tap productions include A Very Jazzy Nutcracker, now an annual Utah holiday favorite, Rhythm of the Lion, and The Syncopated Mermaid.  An award-winning choreographer and populareducator, Wendi teaches at festivals and workshops nationwide, serves as adjunct faculty at BYU, and is dedicated to preserving tap dance history while inspiring dancers to achieve their highest artistic potential.
